Tyler Olson

Raised in the City of Washburn WI, Tyler Olson, has known for a while that he’d love to come back to the Chequamegon Bay area after his schooling.  He just didn’t expect it to happen this fast. Tyler graduated in May, 2016 from St. Scholastic with a doctorate degree in physical therapy and started working at Wilson Physical Therapy a short three weeks later.

Tyler has always had a strong interest in athletics, participating in sports throughout his high school and college years (football, basketball, track & field).    He played four years of football for the Saints and brings that love of the gridiron to the sidelines for the Steelhead of Washburn/Bayfield/South Shore high schools, where he is an assistant coach.  While still an undergraduate at St. Scholastica, he interned at “Crossfit of Breckenridge” in Colorado teaching lifting techniques, creating workouts, and educating on fitness basics.

Away from the office, Tyler enjoys fishing, hiking, hunting, and downhill skiing among many other recreational activities. Every spring he goes on a week-long canoe trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area or Quetico Provincial Park with his dad and uncles and has hunted the Valhalla Recreational Area his entire life. No significant crashes while skiing yet (fingers crossed).

If you’ve ever traveled to La Pointe from Bayfield, you may remember Tyler from his work as a deckhand on the Madeline Island Ferry Line for five summer seasons. Coming home to Lake Superior and the opportunity to give back to the Chequamegon bay area where he grew up, (and being close to family and friends) have made this new opportunity all that much more exciting.

You can see Tyler at WPT Monday through Thursday 8-5pm, or Friday’s 8-Noon.
