Jerry moved to Ashland in 1982 after graduating from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in education degree. His first position was in Mellen, WI as an art instructor. After working in education for a number of years, his interest in sports and fitness led him to Lake Superior College, where he achieved a degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Before joining WPT, he worked at Golden Living in Ashland where he worked with patients that had orthopedic and neuromuscular difficulties as well as patients with deconditioned health. Jerry also brings his experience from his days in Duluth, training elite Division I athletes, preparing them for their season.
One of Jerry’s favorite things about the Ashland area is all the recreational opportunities that are available. He stays “fit” by riding his bike to work (even in the winter with help from his studded bicycle tires), playing tennis year-round and downhill skiing in the winter. Strength and agility training also keep Jerry focused and generally injury free and has become an integral part of his life in his new career at Wilson Physical Therapy. These philosophies have been passed on to his two sons, who are strong athletes in the national and collegiate levels.
Jerry enjoys the views of Chequamegon Bay off his deck with his wife, Peggy and furry friend, Bailey. If you see Jerry at Wilson Physical Therapy, you might find him proudly wearing green and gold Green Bay Packer attire during the football season.
